Powder coating for new school De Wingerd

September 2011 – The students at De Wingerd in Damwoude (in the municipality of Dantumadeel) have got a new school. The school for children with special learning needs, from toddlers to 18 year olds, is a single-storey building with a surface area of almost 3,800 m2. Verzinkerij Wolvega hot-dip galvanised the steel structure. The prominent white pillars and profiles have been treated with the Duplex Route and powder coated by Poedercoating Wolvega after galvanisation.

In order to provide the extensive low-rise school building with a certain profile in the landscape, a white portal was introduced across the full width, with white pillars as a supporting feature. Unlike the old school, the new school has a very open character. The new school includes a lot of glass, lots of sightlines and plenty of light, helping to keep the children calm.

The steel structure for the new school was produced by ACS Heerenveen and hot-dip galvanised by Verzinkerij Wolvega. The supporting pillars and profiles were treated with the Duplex Route: hot-dip galvanisation by Verzinkerij Wolvega followed by a white powder coating from Poedercoating Wolvega.
